The Touareg can climb a 45-degree angle. It can be driven along a 35-degree incline without rolling. With air suspension, it has a fording depth of 23 inches. This means it can drive through 23 inches of water without stalling. It does not roll back on a steep grade. Dangerous downhill decent is alleviated with hill decent control (HDC).
Safety is also enhanced with a tire pressure monitoring system and engine braking control (EBC). There is much more, including six airbags, brake assist, and crash active front headrests.
Engine availability includes a 3.2 L VR6 with 220 hp and a 4.2 L V8 with 310 hp.* For both engines, power is delivered to the wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic. Powerful.
The interior of the Touareg is roomy with luxury attributes and finish only found in premium luxury vehicles. The exterior includes an adjustable roof rack and trailer hitch prep.

| The V6 “base” model is well-equipped with amenities such as HomeLink, Climatronic, and a multi-function indicator. V8 models and highly-equipped off-road models will be available with 4-zone CLIMAtronic, a navigation system, bi-xenon headlights, and a variety of leather and wood interior options.
